In support of the literacy campaign in Jamaica, the GLPEF will in summer 2025 begin a "Readers are Leaders Club." Students from several secondary level institutions / high schools will respond to challenges/questions from the following four books:
- Runkus Black: Starting Something
- Runkus Black: Unfinished Business
- Runkus Black: Turning Point, and
- Realized Dream: An Autobiography, Part One
To respond to any of the challenges in the application forms below, students will procure the eBooks to read, and find the answers to challenges/questions.
- The first student to correctly respond to all questions in Challenge #1 will obtain a back to school book voucher valued at J$5,000.00.
- The first student to correctly respond to all questions in Challenges #1 and #2 will obtain a back to school book voucher valued at J$7,500.00.
- The first student to correctly respond to all questions in Challenges #1, #2, and #3 will obtain a back to school book voucher valued at J$10,000.00.
- The first student of any grade, except fifth form to correctly respond to all questions in Challenges #1, #2, #3, and #4 will obtain a back to school book voucher valued at J$12,500.00.
- The first fifth form student to correctly respond to all questions in Challenges #1, #2, #3, and #4 will obtain a scholarship to the first year of a sixth form (grade 12) at a high school in Jamaica. The scholarship will cover the following: a) Gregory Lloyd Prince Educational Foundation Readers are Leaders Plaque; b) Payment of the CAPE entry fee, as well as two (2) CAPE subjects not covered by the Ministry of Education; c) Back to school book voucher valued at J$12,500.00.
- Applications open on 15th August, and close 15th September.
- Late applications will not be accepted. (APPLICATIONS ARE BELOW)
- Obtain the application's Authorization Code from the Guidance Counsellor or Librarian.
