During his earlier years, Gregory was very active in both contact and non-contact sports, where he also represented Jamaica.
In his career years, he worked in the public and private sectors in Jamaica, and North America. He and his wife, Nadine, have two children.
First Person Account: In the late months of 2016, at bedtime, I had exhausted my children’s favourite stories. In PJ’s, and looking at me, the gleeful pleas of, “Daddy, Daddy; tell us a story; tell us a story,” were choruses from their lips.
In trying to send them to bed, I started weaving words together, making up stuff as I went along—

I recall though, that I never stumbled for words, and the story of a boy on a voyage became alive in my mind. I enjoyed how the story progressed, and having brought the made-up tale to an end, when I looked at both little people, the magic had worked.
Having been so clear and fluent as if I had already known that story and was merely retelling, I became excited, and curious about how the transition in that boy’s life could occur.
The story lingered in my thoughts for a few more days, and I decided to put pen to paper, doing what I never thought of before—write fiction. The first novel

The first novel in the series: Runkus Black: Starting Something, was published in October 2019. "Runkus Black: Unfinished Business, The Sequel," was published in October 2020.
